The premium quality virgin Coconut Oil used in all of Live Native’s Skin Foods is grown on an organic plantation in Sri Lanka. The oil, which is naturally liquid at temperatures above 24C, is pressed from the young flesh of the fresh coconut without the use of additional heat. This low temperature extraction ensures that the naturally occurring enzymes, phytonutrients, vitamin E and tocotrienols, remain undamaged and biologically active for the benefit of your skin.
Our virgin coconut oil is so fresh it does not require refining, bleaching or deodorising – processes that leave traces of harmful chemicals in the final product. Because coconut oil is so stable and naturally resistant to oxidation, it stays fresh without the need for preservatives, for many years!
Reputed to have been used by Queen Cleopatra, fresh aloe vera contains over 200 biologically active ingredients, including Hyloraunic Acid, and its high polysaccharide content enables nutrients to penetrate the skin and retain moisture. It not only soothes and conditions skin but reduces inflammation, boosts collagen production and prevents the appearance of age spots.
The organic Aloe Vera in our skin foods is grown in beautiful Andalucia. It is hand-filleted, cold-pressed through charcoal filters and unpasturised, retaining the therapeutic benefit of all 200+ biologically active components.
All Aloe has to be preserved against oxidation once it has been extracted from the leaf and we searched hard for a gel that contains only natural preservatives, and absolutely no parabens. Our aloe is 99.2% pure gel and contains only 0.8% vitamin C, organic essential oil of orange and xanthan gum.
Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii) comes from the fruit kernels of the Karite Tree that grows wild throughout the dry arid regions of Central and West Africa. The truly raw Shea butter we use in all Live Native products is fairly traded, wild harvested and extracted by the traditional hand-churning method from un-toasted nuts, using cold water and dehydrating at 115F to dry. The resultant butter has undergone the minimum of processing at low temperatures and has not been bleached or deodorised. It contains no chemical residues and its therapeutic values remain intact.
Our Seaweed is sustainably hand harvested from the unpolluted shores of the Isle of Lewis, and specially dried at 40C to retain its full spectrum of vitamins, minerals, polysaccharides, enzymes, and essential fatty acids.
