I have always enjoyed being creative and thinking a little unconventionally. I attribute this in part to having been lucky enough to grow up on the Isle of Skye, where imagination can roam as freely as the sheep upon the wild hills! Having enjoyed such unspoilt surroundings has made me acutely aware of how fragile these can be, and I have a great passion to sustain such a beautiful environment for ours and future generations.

I began to make my own skincare in 2005, as a natural consequence of my lifelong interest in health and nutrition. Having become a vegetarian, then vegan and finally adopting a raw food vegan diet in 2002, it made little sense to me to use skincare that had been manufactured in the conventional way. Combining heat damaged fragile oils with water and alcohol by the addition of petrochemical derived emulsifiers, detergents and preservatives hardly seemed a recipe for healthy skin! I felt it was time for a paradigm shift in the skincare industry.

Instead I drew upon my 20 years experience of working in the natural health industry, both as a homoeopath and nutritionist, to design a unique range of life-loving skincare with the ultimate aim of promoting beautiful skin by restoring skin to health and vitality. Live Native is one of the world’s first ranges of adaptogenic living skincare, truly nurturing and able to restore balance to all skin types.

I live and work with my partner and co-director Ian on the beautiful Isle of Skye where we share our days with our two dogs Buffy and Moose. In addition to developing products and Spa treatments for Live Native I also maintain my private homoeopathic practice. I find great satisfaction in being able to guide people towards a healthy, pure and sustainable way of living, and in knowing that Live Native is a truly ethical company respecting and supporting cruelty-free living, traditional ways of life and reconnecting to our environment.
